DOJ Designates New York City, Seattle, and Portland as ‘Anarchist Jurisdictions’

The Justice Department designated NYC, Portland and Seattle as “anarchist jurisdictions” under guidelines issued by President Trump earlier this month.
The Department of Justice labeled New York City, Seattle, and Portland as “anarchist jurisdictions” over the weekend invoking new powers that had not been used before.

These powers come from an Executive Order signed by President Trump allowing the federal government to withhold federal funding from cities that are not doing enough to protect their citizens.

This is a concrete step taken by the DOJ and White House to finally end the disgusting rioting that has plagued Democratic cities and states since late June. Federal grants account for billions of dollars in the NYC budget. Maybe now they will get serious about protecting their citizens.

We cannot allow federal tax dollars to be wasted when the safety of the citizenry hangs in the balance.” – Attorney General William Barr

Normally, we would not have an issue with Democrats in Democrat states burning their Democrat cities to the ground. But taxpayers need to pay for the destruction through federal funding. Is it fair that law abiding citizens in Texas, Iowa, and Nebraska have to pay for the inept and lawless destruction in New York City, Seattle, and Portland?

No. The answer is no.

Attorney General Barr agreed with this logic in his statements on the issue.

We cannot allow federal tax dollars to be wasted when the safety of the citizenry hangs in the balance. It is my hope that the cities identified by the Department of Justice today will reverse course and become serious about performing the basic function of government and start protecting their own citizens,” – Attorney General William Barr

We hope the DOJ, White House, and federal government continue to hold states and cities accountable. They should not be able to allow looting, rioting, and arson and still collect billions of dollars in federal aid a year.

Although we do think someone should compensate this poor guy for ruining his dream.

What do you think?
